3Key Consulting Inc. is looking for role for a Senior Associate Lab Scientist with 1 – 2 years’ experience (industry or academic) in quantitative laboratory analysis (e.g. liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry) for a global, CA-based, bio-pharmaceutical company.
 
Job Description:
  • To perform bioanalytical experiments, organize data and analyze results, including planning and running LC-MS bioanalysis, participating in method development, method validations, and preparing and analyzing biological samples for both non-GxP discovery support and GxP regulated studies.
  • To develop solutions to technical problems for non-GxP discovery support and GLP/GCP bioanalytical methods with supervision.
  • To document and communicate results.
  • To follow detailed SOPs and other written procedures when performing experiments.
  • To participate in departmental initiatives and process improvements , e.g. for safety or efficient processing of samples.
  • Understands when to seek input and when to make independent judgments.
 
Top Must-Have
  • Experience of quantitative laboratory analysis, preferably including preparation and analysis of biological samples.
  • Experience of chromatographic, preferably including LC-MS.
  • Good inter-personal skills, high attention to detail, and good verbal and written communications skills.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Experience in a Biopharmaceutical working environment.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Follows established procedures with moderate supervision to develop and apply novel highly sensitive LC-MS bioanalytical methods to analyze small molecule, peptide and large molecule therapeutics in animal and human biofluids and tissues.
  • Conducts bioanalytical experiments, analyzes data and prepares experimental records.
  • Works in accordance with organization and department compliance, safety and quality requirements and SOPs.
  • Reads and comprehends relevant procedures and scientific literature.
  • Assists in the planning and performing laboratory experiments.
  • Organizes and communicates information to supervisor.
  • Follows directions and seeks advice when issues are encountered.
  • Participates in group, department and team activities, meetings, training activities and seminars.
  • Clearly and completely documents results in compliance with departmental/corporate policies (e.g.  Lab Notebook Procedures).
  • Effectively uses standard computer software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.) and learns
  • use of scientific programs such as ELN and LIMS systems.
  • Learns to effectively use LC-MS instrumentation and control software.
  • Uses standard laboratory equipment (i.e., fume hoods, balances, pipettes, mixers
  • etc.).
  • Assists in preparation of reports, presentations and SOPs.
