3Key Consulting Inc. is recruiting for a Scientist for a global, CA-based, bio-pharmaceutical company.
 
Description:
This position is for a Scientist in the Materials Science group working under the guidance of the hiring manager. The scientist will perform a range of cross-functional activities to support single-use systems used in bioprocessing, including clinical and commercial manufacturing.

Core job responsibilities include:
• Representing the Materials Science function in cross-functional groups as a technical subject matter expert working with supplier quality management, supply chain, engineering, toxicology, etc.
• Supplier Change Notifications - assessing impact of changes to products and processes
• Raw material non-conformances – root cause investigations, evaluation of SICAR Responses (CAPAs) and effectiveness verification of supplier CAPAs
• Specification development – assessing new single-use assemblies from a materials perspective and setting appropriate specifications to suppliers.


Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
polymers, plastics, and/or single-use systems excellent communication skills problem solving

Required Qualifications
• BS/BA in engineering, chemistry, or polymers/plastics and at least 5 years of experience working in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical/plastics industry, capability to learn quickly, OR
• Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or polymers/plastics and at least 3 years of experience working in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical/plastics industry, capability to learn quickly, OR
• Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry, or polymers/plastics and preferably at least 1 year of experience working in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, capability to learn quickly

Preferred Skills and Experience
• Familiarity with single-use systems, injection molding, plastic film manufacturing, or other polymer-related experience
• Experience with GMP manufacturing, quality systems and writing regulated documents
• Experience in process development
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical colleagues
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
• Good organizational skills
• Be able to multi-task and function in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work with technical documents, perform data analysis, and identify critical missing information
