3Key Consulting Inc. is looking for a Scientist with 2 – 6 years’ experience (depending on education) in planning and performing molecular biology experiments, DNA/RNA isolation and purification, PCR, RT-PCR sequencing and genotyping for a global, CA-based, bio-pharmaceutical company.
Job Description:
Our ideal Candidate will have a B.S degree with Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology (strongly preferred), Cell Biology or related field with 4-6 years’ experience, or MS degree with 2-4 years’ relevant experience
This position is within the Pre-Pivotal Drug Substance Technologies in Process Development at Amgen, Thousand Oaks. In this role the candidate will plan, perform, and analyze experiments utilizing molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA isolation and purification, restriction analysis, vector construction and plasmid preps, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing and genotyping (Northern and Southern Blotting). They will also perform routine cell culture tasks (thaw, transfection, growth, cell banking).
The candidate should be independently motivated but able to work well in a team environment. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute experiments in an efficient and time-effective manner. Self-starting abilities are expected. Individuals require strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with groups across several departments.
Top Must-Have Skills:
  • DNA and RNA isolation and purification.
  • PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing.
  • Genotyping (Northern and Southern Blotting).
Basic Qualifications:
  • Qualified applicants will have strong experience in molecular biology, genetics, cloning technologies.
  • Experience with cell culture, transfection, aseptic technique.
  • An understanding of basic statistical applications desired.
  • In addition, candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail is a requirement.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Perform molecular/genetic characterization on clones /cell lines. The worker will go likely train with someone in the group for the first few weeks then they will be expected to run their own experiments after that
