3Key Consulting is looking for a Medical Communications Manager for a leading, international pharmaceutical company headquartered in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Job Summary:
Medical Communications Manager – Neurosciences 

Ideal candidate would have worked previously in Scientific Affairs at a competitor of Amgen in the Biopharma space who understands how the industry works. Strong oral/written communications. 

Average candidate would be candidate with strong Clinical background, a recent pharm grad that is motivated with few years’ experience outside of school with excellent oral/written skills- PHARM-D. This person will be working normal working hours on-site at ATO. Possibility of extension for this role. 

Amgen Job Description 

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating scientific information on Amgen pipeline and inline products within the Neuroscience TA to the global healthcare community, enabling informed decision making for optimal patient care and access to Amgen products. Reporting to the Sr Manager of Medical Communications, the Manager’s responsibilities will include execution of initiatives such as writing standard response documents, performing intake of adverse events and product complaint reports related to Amgen Neuroscience products, communicating disease state and product information to internal and external customers, performing literature surveillance and analysis, reviewing field-based promotional and educational materials for scientific accuracy, providing support for key scientific congresses including creation of Scientific Affairs booths, the development and management of scientific platforms, scientific advisory boards, and resources for Regional Medical Liaisons, and management of project-associated budgets. This position offers an opportunity to work in a matrix environment on global cross-functional teams that are focused on supporting Amgen’s innovative scientific programs. Some travel may be required — approximately 10%. 

Basic Requirements: 
Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree & 5 years of clinical, academic, or industry experience OR Bachelor’s degree & 7 years of clinical, academic, or industry experience 

Preferred Requirements 
•PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO with 1 or more years of relevant experience in clinical research, patient care, Clinical Development, Medical/Scientific Affairs, and/or basic research (Other doctorate degrees may be considered) 
•Prior experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development within the biopharmaceutical industry, and/or clinical or research experience in the areas of Neuroscience 
•An understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products 
•Aptitude in writing and presenting on scientific and clinical data 
•Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, time management, and project planning skills 
•Demonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment 
•The ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions 
•Understanding of disease landscape and clinical data to enable critical analysis of scientific literature and communicate implications cross-functionally 
•Prior experience of successfully managing consultants and vendors 
•Strong computer and database skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products 

Work Environment: Team with occasional individual assignments 

Position will require working in an open and collaborative workspace. Work hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8am to 5 pm). Work performance will be determined by hiring manager through review of assignments and deliverables.

Top Must have Skill Sets: The candidate should have medical information or equivalent experience which includes written and verbal communication, experience in interacting with the healthcare community, and having a clinical background to interpret and analyze scientific literature.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities: Day to day responsibilities include communicating disease state and product information to internal and external customers, capturing adverse events and product complaints, performing daily literature surveillance and analysis, writing and reviewing standard response documents, reviewing field-based promotional and educational materials for scientific accuracy, providing support for key scientific congresses and other projects to support the Neuroscience TA.  Training and objective measurements will ensure candidate is successful.
