3 Key Consulting is hiring!  We are recruiting an EHS Specialist for a consulting engagement with our direct client, a leading global biotechnology company. 

Job Description: 
Our ideal candidate will have:
•    Industrial safety/contractor safety experience
•    OSHA safety experience (or OSHA 8-hour class)
•    Risk assessments & job hazard assessments
•    Knowledge of chemical and biological manufacturing
•    Familiarity with organizational safety programs
•    2-3+ years of experience, preferably in pharmaceutical/biotech environments
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    Good communication skills, clear message, self-sufficient
•    Degree in Occupational Safety (e.g., from CSUN)
•    Experience with risk management and regulatory compliance
•    Strong leadership skills.
•    Strong understanding of safety principles and a proven track record in maturing programs and processes.
•    The position requires the ability to collaborate cross functionally and to influence management across many functions.

We are looking for an experienced professional in the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) group to lead safety and health programs at our client’s Thousand Oaks location. The successful candidate will:
•    Be responsible for the continuous improvement of safety programs across the client’s Thousand Oaks campus.
•    Assist in developing and implementing a safety and health strategy across the client’s Thousand Oaks campus
•    Have a strong understanding of EHS disciplines and be able to support clients with input from other EHS and site subject matter experts.
•    Provide expert level assessment support across the campus

Primary responsibilities include:
•    Assisting with development, advancement and implementation of the safety and health programs and strategy across the Thousand Oaks campus
•    Advancing core safety and health programs to manage EHS risks including, but not limited to, contractor and industrial safety, environmental compliance, process safety and industrial hygiene.

Top Must Have Skill Sets: 
•    Experience in managing OSHA Safety Programs
•    Experience in Risk Management
•    Organizational Skills

Day to Day Responsibilities: 
•    Walk from building to building and interact with clients.
•    Review equipment change controls.
•    Complete accident investigations.

Basic Qualifications: 
•    EHS bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in EHS supporting safety and health programs
•    Knowledgeable in chemical and biological manufacturing and laboratory operations
•    Familiar with the hierarchy of controls, Safety Data Sheets, and monitoring equipment
•    Strong leadership and team building skills
•    Process driven and action-oriented, with a strong Operational Excellence mindset
•    Self-starting with program development and project management experience
•    Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
•    Strong technical writing skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems

Preferred Qualifications:  
•    5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry leading industrial programs
•    Experience implementing and supporting safety and health programs
•    Proficient in conducting risk assessments and developing sampling strategies
•    Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and influence management
•    Strong verbal & written communication skills, ability to effectively communicate cross functionally

Red Flags: 
•    Candidates not willing to work onsite at least 3 days a week (could be 5)
•    Candidates with no prior industrial safety experience (e.g., someone who was only a department safety rep)
•    Relocation Candidates
•    Overqualification: Candidates with more than 6 years of experience
