3 Key Consulting is hiring a Sr Associate Scientist- Organic/Synthetic chemistry for a consulting engagement with our direct client, a leading global bio-pharmaceutical company.

Job Summary:
  • Bachelors' degree & 2 YOE OR Masters' degree in Organic Chemistry post-graduation.
  • An ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in organic chemistry (or Bachelor’s with 2 years’ experience) with lab experience in complex organic synthesis, e.g. natural products, organic methods, bench work at a pharmaceutical or fine chemical company and familiarity with standard organic characterization techniques (HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, Q-NMR).
  • The candidate will work under the supervision of a Ph.D. Scientist, independently synthesizing chemical intermediates and process impurities through established and novel means, to support drug substance development teams.
  • Research activities include reaction development, characterization of reaction profiles and isolated compounds, and commercial process development activities.
  • The candidate will maintain laboratory notebooks and computer files, participate in group and project meetings, and attend seminars.
  • The candidate will work in a team environment collaborating with various colleagues in process development including process chemists and analytical chemists.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters in Organic Chemistry
  • 2+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Broad knowledge of organic chemistry reactions and current scientific literature
  • Basic laboratory skills including synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic small molecules
  • Analytical techniques including NMR, HPLC and Mass Spec
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting analytical data
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal skills Knowledge of basic office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Top Must have Skill Sets:
  • Organic Chemistry (Synthetic chemistry)
  • Chromatography
  • NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Residence)

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Independent synthesis of chemical intermediates and chemical markers including reaction, purification and characterization (NMR, LC-MS).
  • Report to scientist and provide technical updates.
  • Communicate with project leads in Process Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
