3 Key Consulting is hiring an Undergrad for an internship engagement with our direct client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company.

Job Description:

Undergrad Intern – Site Communications & Operations
Length of Assignment: 12 – 14 weeks
Preferred Majors/Disciplines: Communications, Business Management
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (at least Junior level) or recent graduate (up to 1 year post graduation)

Department/Team Summary:

Client’s Operations East Coast Innovation Center. We develop next generation process and product technologies that drive company competitive advantage, revolutionizing how we deliver life-changing medicines to patients. AMA is a truly cross-functional and collaborative site, with capabilities that span drug discovery, development, and manufacturing. Located in the heart of Cambridge’s Kendall Square, we leverage critical relationships with industry and academia to drive innovative science.

The Business Operations team is responsible for providing Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, operational, and strategic support for the more than 400 employees at the company Massachusetts site. The team focuses on maintaining a superior working environment for our scientists and engineers by creating opportunities for career development, health & wellness, external outreach, diversity & inclusion, connections with leadership, and scientific exchange.


Looking for a student who can assist with various projects supporting our employee communications strategy, staff engagement strategy, and general site operations.

Specifically, this intern will work on the following projects:
  • Site Communications Strategy: Intern will be responsible for evaluating our current site communications channels, identifying key areas of opportunities, and working towards opening new channels of communications for improved staff engagement.
  • Employee newsletter: Weekly oversight of employee newsletter which entails collaborating with scientists to collect articles, assisting leadership with scripting the overview, formatting, and distribution of newsletter.
  • Staff Engagement Strategy: Support the Strategic Planning & Operations Lead with establishing an Internal Engagement Committee to manage and improve on-site staff engagement.
  • Ad Hoc Communications: If bandwidth allows, this intern will support ad hoc communications needs for Corporate Affairs programs/initiatives, delivering presentation decks, news stories, web content and other assets to promote programs and services.
  • Ad Hoc Operational Support: Assist with planning and coordinating on-site activities such as site tours, social hours, networking events, athletic activities, and other events.
  • Creative mind, strong storyteller, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention-to-detail with project management skills, and strategic planning experience
  • Growth mindset: ability to take feedback with curiosity and vigor to improve and find the best outcome for the business
  • Quick learner: can pick up new concepts and information quickly and use it to make decisions
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with diverse groups
  • Empathy for target audiences and ability to analyze the end-user experience in a way that influences more effective communications
  • Technical competency working with Microsoft office
  • Background in communications or business management
