3 Key Consulting is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager for a consulting engagement with our direct client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company.
Job Description:
Open to industry, ideally pharma or biotech.
2+ years of EHS experience.
We are looking for an Environment, Health, Safety and Manager to support our drive for world-class EHSS performance in a R&D laboratory environment. The EHSS Manager will Support Environmental Compliance at the client’s South San Francisco Campus and will also assist with key laboratory and facilities based safety and environmental programs, and partnering with clients to advance safety culture and manage EHSS risks.
The EHSS Manager will have an good understanding of California and local Environmental Regulations and lab based EHSS disciplines and be able to support Environmental compliance and laboratory clients with input from other EHSS subject matter experts at the site and from within the client’s EHSS community.
Responsibilities:
Support laboratory clients with input from other EHSS subject matter experts at the site and from within R&D.
Partner with clients to advance safety culture and manage EHSS risks
Analyze metrics and establish annual action plans to drive continuous improvement.
Establish and execute risk assessment plans for clients to ensure all risks are proactively addressed and control systems are implemented and maintained
Ensure all changes with potential EHSS impact are assessed and controls are established prior to implementation
Ensure all hazards are identified and risks are proactively assessed
Establish safe work procedures for hazardous work
Conduct regular inspections of the work areas
Monitor incident trends and assist management in conducting incident investigations to implement robust corrective actions to prevent future incidents and injuries

Top Must-Have Skill Sets:
Project Management
Understanding of lab-based EHSS disciplines
Ability to partner with and effectively influence laboratory staff and management
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
Understanding of Biology and Chemistry Lab operations, especially large-scale operations
Strong knowledge of chemistry fundamentals, or strong understanding of various chemical hazards.
Knowledge of US, California regulations as they pertain to pharma/biotech operations
Day to Day Responsibilities: EHSS Change Control Risk Assessments (equipment, lab chemical, building, risk assessments) Assist staff with completion of accident / incident investigations and root cause assessment Ergonomic Assessments Onsite/Virtual EHSS Site Document/SOP Updating SPCC Inspections (Monthly) Wastewater Sampling (Weekly)
