3 Key Consulting is hiring a Licensing Senior Associate for a consulting engagement with our direct client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company.

Job Description:
Candidate will use their scientific knowledge and skills to assist the Business Development group in prescreening, processing, and reviewing potential medicines and scientific platforms/technologies from external companies, academic centers, and other external sources. This is an important first step in the critical process of identifying opportunities that client can further develop, with the goal of producing and delivering better medicines to patients.

Top Must Have Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written and listening.
  • Project management & multi-tasking skills and proficiency in databases utilization, data entry, and MS Office tools.
  • Ability to search and retrieve information from databases, Internet and other external sources.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and individually.
  • Interest in learning.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Applying scientific knowledge to assess and characterize incoming product and technology opportunities from outside institutions and triaging them to the appropriate person for review.
  • Coordinating receipt, acknowledgement, and triage of opportunities received from external institutions.
  • Communicating with external institutions, entering and tracking status of each opportunity in the database.
  • Analyzing and summarizing data from external sources as required to help make data-based decisions as well as coordinating input and feedback from client staff, including Research, Development, Commercial, Legal, etc.
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely follow-up with outside institutions in coordination with team members, including both requesting additional information and providing feedback from our internal evaluation.
  • Coordinating Triage meetings: schedule, prepare agenda, facilitate meeting, generate minutes, handle all follow up and ensure each new opportunity transitions properly.
  • Triaging incoming non-licensing requests appropriately.
  • Partnering with business development staff to enhance business processes and identify areas for process improvement and standardization.
  • Supporting database enhancements and additional department projects as needed.
  • Acting as a point of contact for staff requiring licensing database training or licensing database trouble shooting.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses: B.S. in Science, Healthcare, Biological Science or equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional experience. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.
  • ~ 2 to 5 years in clinical or scientific research including biologic sciences research in graduate school.
  • Strong scientific knowledge/academic background, and solid scientific analysis and interpretation skills for decision-making and problem solving.
